Connect Claude to FMS

You end up asking Claude questions about members, teams and revenue, and Claude answers from FMS.

Claude signs in as you. It can only read. It cannot change, cancel, refund or email anything. How safe it is, and its review status: Is it safe?.

You'll need

  • Your own FMS staff email and password. A temporary password will not work. Choose your own first, on Your account.
  • Two-step sign-in set up on your account, and your phone with the authenticator app. Set it up first by signing in to the console. See Two-step sign-in.
  • A Claude account on claude.ai, in Claude Desktop or in Claude Code. On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, your Claude organization's owner may need to allow custom connectors first.
  • The connector switched on. If Your account says it is switched off, ask the technical team.
  • The two Cloudflare values for FMS, from an owner or the technical team. They are a door key in front of FMS, the same for all staff. Ask for them directly; do not forward them on, and delete the message they came in once they are saved. Claude hides them after you save.

Only sign in on a link you started

Press Connect in your own Claude yourself. Then sign in. If someone sent you an FMS sign-in link, close it. A stranger's Claude could read member records as you. If you were not sure, press Disconnect on Your account now. FMS emails you every time Claude signs in to your account (see Sign-in emails), so read each one: it is how you notice a sign-in you did not start.

Connect

  1. Open the menu at the far right of the top bar and press Your account.
  2. Find the card Claude and other AI assistants. Under How to connect press Copy beside the address. It ends in /mcp.
  3. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  4. Press Add custom connector.
  5. Type FMS as the name.
  6. Paste the address you copied.
  7. Under Request headers press Add header twice. Type CF-Access-Client-Id with its value, then CF-Access-Client-Secret with its value, exactly as you were given them.
  8. Press Add, then Connect. A page titled Connect Claude to FMS opens.
  9. Read the line that starts An app calling itself. The app's name is only its own claim. The line Your sign-in goes back to shows where you land: claude.ai, or this computer for an app on your machine. If that is not what you expect, close the page.
  10. Type your FMS staff email and password. Complete the check if one shows.
  11. Type the 6 digits your authenticator app shows for FMS in Code from your authenticator app (or a recovery code). Without your phone, type a recovery code instead.
  12. Press Sign in and allow. Claude takes you back.
Claude Desktop and Claude Code

Claude Desktop uses the same Settings → Connectors steps. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http fms <the address> --header "CF-Access-Client-Id: <value>" --header "CF-Access-Client-Secret: <value>", then open /mcp in Claude Code and choose to sign in. The sign-in page is the same.

Why the two Cloudflare values

FMS sits behind Cloudflare. Since 5 October 2026 Cloudflare lets a Claude request through to FMS only when it carries these two values, so a stranger's Claude cannot ask FMS anything. The values are shared by all staff. Your own FMS password is still what makes the connection yours. They expire once a year. The technical team then gives out new ones, and everyone types them into their connector again.

Check it worked

  • Ask Claude "What can you do in FMS?" It lists what it can look up
  • Your account lists a connection under Your connections, with Connected and Last used times
  • Settings → Audit, with Channel set to AI assistant, has a line for your sign-in and one for each question
  • A few minutes later, FMS emails you about the sign-in. See Sign-in emails
