Step 3: Cutover and rollback

The only step readers can notice. Do it when someone who can roll it back is available.

1. Swap the member pages

Press Swap pages. The old plugin's account, invoice, cancel and pricing pages are replaced with the FMS shortcodes. The originals are kept, so Rollback puts them back exactly.

Open the preview panel first to see the list of what will change.

2. Flip the gate on

This is the cutover

FMS becomes the gate for every reader the moment you press it. Have the rollback ready.

Press Flip ON. Then check, in this order:

• A signed-out visitor sees the teaser and the locked card
• A member can read a members-only article
• A team member can read one
• My Account, Newsletters and Invoices all load
• Joining works end to end with a test card

If any of those fail, press Flip OFF. The old plugin takes over again immediately.

3. Post-flip URL sweep

Press Run sweep. It fetches every member-facing URL and reports the response codes, any leftover shortcode text, and any new errors. Fix anything it finds before moving on.

4. Deactivate the old plugin

This is the point of no return

Up to here, unticking the switch restores the old behaviour. Once the old plugin is off, going back is a restore, not a click. Only do this after the site has run on FMS long enough to trust it, usually days rather than minutes.

Press Open PMPro cutover panel, which takes you to the readiness panel in the plugin settings. It refuses to deactivate while any blocking check fails. It never deletes data.

Rolling back

How far along	How to undo

Old plugin deactivated	Reactivate it, then untick the switch. Check billing carefully.
