WordWhat it means
AccessWhether someone can read members-only content. Decided by FMS, not by Stripe.
CapabilityOne named thing a member is allowed to do, such as read a members-only article.
CompA free membership. Nobody is charged, ever.
ConsolidationThe repair screen that compares FMS, Stripe and Mailchimp and fixes differences.
Dead letterA message FMS failed to deliver so many times that it stopped trying. Needs a human.
EnvironmentA complete copy of the system with its own database. Production, or a sandbox.
ExternalPaid outside Stripe, usually by bank transfer, and recorded by hand.
GateThe lock the WordPress plugin puts on members-only content.
GrantAccess given by hand from the admin portal, rather than bought at a checkout.
Master switchThe single tick box in WordPress that puts FMS in charge of the gate.
OutboxThe queue FMS puts messages in before sending them, so nothing is lost or sent twice.
PlanOne thing you sell, with a name and a price.
PMProPaid Memberships Pro, the old membership plugin FMS replaces.
RerouteMoving a member's billing to a different Stripe account so their card works.
SandboxA practice environment. Test cards work here and nowhere else.
SCAThe bank asking a member to confirm a payment in their banking app.
SeatOne person's place on a team membership.
Service keyThe long secret starting fms_sk_ that lets WordPress talk to FMS.
SettlementWhat actually reached the bank after Stripe took its fee.
TeaserThe first few paragraphs of a gated article, shown to everyone.
Whitelist grantA comp membership with an end date. Access drops to free Community when it passes.
